The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has issued a statement to Nigerians on the operations of the forthcoming 2023 presidential election. Chairman of the commission, Professor Mahmood Yakub on behalf of INEC, informed the general Nigerian public that today 16 November 2022, signifies an exact 100 days before the presidential election.
Professor Yakub revealed that the presidential elections is set to hold on Saturday, 25th February 2023 and polling units will be declared open at exactly 8:30am. Governorship and senatorial elections will simultaneously take place on 23rd March, 2022. INEC Chairman enjoins all citizens to participate fully in the forthcoming elections from this moment by ensuring collection of the Permanent Voters' Cards (PVCs).

Professor Mahmood Yakub further assured Nigerians that the electoral commission will continue to play its part diligently and conscientiously while pledging loyalty to Nigerians who seek free and fair elections. He appealed to all stakeholders and citizens to give utmost cooperation to the commission by carrying out individual duties that will ensure the progress and transparency of the forthcoming elections.
