Labour Party's presidential aspirant Mr Peter Obi has become a honorary citizen of Dallas, Texas, in the United States of America. In a tweet, the presidential candidate revealed that he had been conferred the honorary citizenship of Dallas by the mayor after a meeting with a select group of Texas judges.

Mixed reactions have trailed this revelation by Peter Obi, as supporters of the presidential aspirant say that this conferment of honorary citizenship is proof of acceptance of Peter Obi as a worthy leader on the international scene. Yet others have stated the Labour Party's presidential aspirant needs to focus on getting the support of the grassroots and not spend all of his campaign period vying for acceptance and approval abroad as foreigners cannot vote at the 2023 electoral polls.
