Catholic priest and founder of Adoration Ministries Enugu, Reverend Father Ejike Mbaka has been removed from his position as spiritual director of Adoration Ministries by Bishop Callistus Onaga. Fr Mbaka made this announcement to the congregation during the last mass he conducted at the Ministry. He further revealed that the Bishop appointed Fr Anthony Amadi as the new Spiritual director of the ministry, to be assisted by other unnamed priests.
Prior to Fr Mbaka's removal, the ministry had been shut down for three months as a result of a series of controversial issues surrounding Father Mbaka. While announcing his replacement, Ejike also revealed that he would be proceeding to the monastery to continue the remaining disciplinary exercises. He further stated that "nobody can disgrace a man of God". Fr Ejike Mbaka is well-known in the country for his highly opinionated views on political matters. Many have declared that this interest in the political affairs of the nation, is highly unethical for a priest.
Members of the Adoration Ministries did not take well to the announcement of Father Ejike Mbaka's replacement and a video circulating social media shows his ardent members booing the new priest, Father Anthony Amadi while repeatedly chanting the word "No"
