In an exclusive interview with BBC Pidgin, unnamed mum of the amputee two month baby who has viral after losing his arm from a beating received from his father, revealed that the man flogged the baby with a hanger and tied the baby's hand while declaring that the baby was a little child who would heal quickly.
The baby's mother further revealed that her baby's father threatened her and asked her to not tell anyone about what he had done. The 19 years old teenager revealed that she had been living with her baby's father for four years. She also revealed that she had broken up with him a couple of times and moved to Anambra but he had always gone to find her and brought her back to his location in Owerri.

With the help of neighbours, the teenager told interviewers that she had able to take the baby to various hospitals where they had been rejected until they arrived the Federal Medical Center Owerri where the baby was finally given treatment. Dr Chiedozie Mbalie, Orthopedic surgeon at the Federal Medical Center Owerri, revealed to BBC Pidgin that by the time the baby arrived the medical center, the hand had rotted and had become salvageable hence the need for an amputation to save the baby's life. Nigerians and human rights activist have cried out for the arrest of the child abuser and police have begun a hunt to find him as he's currently at large.
