Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie aka Ebubedike and wife Barrister Josephine Edochie have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary. The celebration took place on Saturday 1st October, 2022 at the Base Landmark Event Centre, Enugu. The occasion was graced by Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and the deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Barr. Ifeanyi Ossai. Former Deputy Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House, Barr. Chima Nwanna was also at the event. Pete Edochie described the event as a “defining moment of my life,” adding that he was highly honored by Gov. Ugwuanyi’s presence to celebrate with him and his family.

Pete Edochie is considered one of Africa’s most talented actors, being honoured with an Industry Merit Award by Africa Magic and Lifetime Achievement by Africa Film Academy. Pete Edochiehas six children with his wife, Josephine Edochie. The Edochie family has become known as a family of entertainers as many members of the large family are actively involved in the Nollywood or entertainment industry. Popular amongst the Edochie clan includes controversial actor Yul Edochie who has constantly been the subject of backlash after his marriage to second wife Judy Austin became public knowledge. Yul Edochie is the last son of Pete Edochie. Other popular members of the Edochie family are Linc Edochie and Rita Edochie. Rita Edochie has sometimes been mistaken for Pete's wife. She is however, his sister-in-law as she is married to Pete's brother, Tony Edochie.
