Lagosians took the independence day celebration to a whole new level as they decided to "fight for their political freedom" through a one million march for Labour Party's presidential aspirant, Peter Obi and his vice-presidential running mate, Dr Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed. The rally which started at various points and areas of Lagos state today 1st October 2022, to witnessed a massive turn out that left people speechless. The originally envisaged 1 million march gradually turned into a 4 million march.
The Obidient Movement has been likened to something of a frenzy as even celebrities took part in the rally. Supporters of Peter Obi have thrown subtle jabs at the All Progressives Congress for not being able to garner such level of support without having to pay for it. The march for Peter Obi was organised without any form of monetary incentive from the Labour Party and its presidential aspirant. Many have declared that the last time Lagosians displayed this level of cooperation and spirit of oneness was during the EndSARS movement in October 2020.
