Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has quit her acting career as a result of her failing health. This announcement was made on Halima's official social media platform by her management team. Halima Abubakar who started professional acting in 2001, has been on hiatus from the movie industry for 3 years. She has also been involved in a series of controversial and scandalous issues with Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman.

The actress who was allegedly the pastor's mistress for many years, published many defamatory articles about Suleman on numerous blogs while simultaneously accusing the pastor of being diabolically responsible for her failing health. The pastor has denied any involvement regarding these accusations and repeatedly refers to them as "defamatory, baseless, malicious and untrue"
It is not certain the exact ailment Halima Abubakar suffers from. The actress via her management team, appreciated her fans for their love and prayers and asked to be allowed to focus on receiving adequate medical attention. Netizens have also extended their wishes for full recovery to the erstwhile movie star.
