Governor of Cross River state, Benedict Ayade has revealed that the state is set to introduce its own noodles soon. Acording to Ben Ayade's official social media platforms, the noodles known as Calavita and Kisime will hit the market as soon as it gains approval and certification from the National Agency for Food Drugs Administration and Control (NAFDAC). The introduction of the noodles by the Cross River Noodles Factory is another initiative of the Ayade Food Sufficiency Agenda.

Governor Ayade implored Cross Riverians and Nigerians at large, to patronise the business while proclaiming the noodles "fresh Noodles produced only from natural ingredients with the spices having their origin from the Nigerian farms and waters." Netizens especially Cross Riverians have reacted to the news of the introduction of the noodles. Some have applauded the new business venture while others have a rather unfavourable opinion about it.
