Following the tragic death of Big Brother Naija season 3 reality star, Patrick Fakoya better known as Rico Swavey, on Thursday 13 October 2022, fanatics of the reality show have expressed deep sadness at his untimely death. On posts going viral on social media, some of these fanatics took it a step further to wish that a number of other "disliked/hated" stars had died instead of Rico Swavey who was proclaimed calm, gentle and easygoing by lovers of the Big Brother Show. Rico Swavey passed away two days after he was involved in a ghastly car accident.
Some of the Big Brother Reality show housemates mentioned on the fanatic groups as names that could have died instead of Rico Swavey include: winner of the just concluded season 7 winner, Phyna, disqualified season 7 housemate Beauty Tukura and also evicted season 7 housemate Groovy.

Fierce reactions have trailed this "hit list" and Nigerians have labelled the fanatics evil with dark hearts. Yet others say this is another reason the Big Brother Naija Reality show ought to be cancelled in the country as it has become more evident that it's now more than just a mere show to many viewers.
