Nollywood actor and comedian John Okafor, better known as Mr Ibu, was spotted at the official first campaign rally of the Labour Party's presidential aspirant Mr Peter Obi and his running mate, Yusuf Datti-Ahmed. The campaign rally took place in Jos, Plateau state on Wednesday 28 September 2022.
Mr Ibu attended the campaign rally wearing a black T-shirt with a print that boldly declared his support for the Obidient-Yusful movement. Many have regarded this obvious support of the Labour Party as a nice departure from other Nollywood veterans who have declared their support for the APC's presidential aspirant Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Reports have alleged that the Batists had received lump sums of naira to support APC and its aspirant.

John Okafor AKA Mr Ibu, hails from Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu state. His acting roles include over 200 Nollywood films. Mr Ibu is considered one of Nigeria's most talented and highest paid comic characters. John Okafor earned the moniker Mr Ibu after the titular character of a blockbuster film he acted in 2004. However, John Okafor claims to have inherited the name Mr Ibu from his grandfather.
