Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has a few days after his meeting with the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, declared that his status as a former president of Nigeria demands that he remains neutral.
Goodluck Jonathan was highly commended for the sportsmanship he showed by meeting Bola Ahmed Tinubu a few days ago despite the latter's role in ousting his government in 2015.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu was pivotal in the formation of the All Progressive Congress as well as the victory of president Muhammadu Buhari over Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
However, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan appealed to Nigerians to be wary of their choices in 2023 general elections. According to him, Nigerians must endeavour to choose credible and competent leaders in 2023 general elections.
"Again, we are faced with the opportunity of choosing our leaders, elections are coming up now.The election is a good opportunity for Nigerians to select whom they believe can rule this country.
“I decided to be politically neutral as a former president. I should be a bit reserved”, the former president is quoted to have said
