The Labour Party has called on the various heads of the Nigeria's security units to place minister for labour and employment Festus Keyamo on the security watch list over assassination attempts on Mr Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate. Festus Keyamo serves as spokesperson for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council.
The Labour Party revealed this concern as a result of Mr Keyamo's allegation that the LP's presidential candidate, Peter Obi, was planning to fake an assassination attempt. Mr Keyamo further stated that Peter Obi and the Labour Party intend to hire supporters dressed in the APC caps and T-shirts to attack his party offices. He also accused the Labour Party and its presidential candidate of circulating disparaging and ridiculing videos of APC's presidential candidate Bola Ahmed Tinubu in order to discredit the aspirant.

National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, Abayomi Arabambi, issued a statement to the media on Keyamo's allegation. The secretary emphatically stated that Keyamo's action was "treasonable conduct" that necessitates placing the APC's spokesperson on the terror watchlist.
