The strain relationship between Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, appears to becoming strainer.
Despite holding a reconciliatory meeting two days ago, the two leaders failed to reconcile their differences at the expense of their political ego.
Wike is understood to be demanding the immediate resignation of the PDP'S national chairman, Ayu Iyorchia who is accused of having deep bias against Wike and the brain behind Wike being dropped as PDP's vice presidential candidate.
Interestingly, Wike, while speaking in Rivers State today, declared the Rivers will reciprocate whatever act done for it or against.
According to him, " if you like us, we like you. If you don't like us, we don't like you".
Wike further noted that his good governance in Rivers State is not linked to his political party's affiliation. He explained that even if he moves to an unknown party that he will still do well in his office.
