Fierce looking Niger Delta Militants have threatened to unleash mayhem on oil facilities within the region should the federal government of Nigeria not withdraw the newly announced 4billion Naira security contract with Government Ekpemupolo, better known as Tompolo.
Recall that it was reported a few days ago that Tompolo was awarded a security contract by the NNPC that requires his guarding the oil facilities within the Niger Delta region.
Consequently, some northern Nigerian youths had protested against the decision to award such a contract to Tompolo.
Also, some heavily armed and masked militants in the region have demanded the withdrawal of the contract awarded to Tompolo by the NNPC. According to them, giving Tompolo such a security responsibility amounts to internal colonization. Hence, the Federal Government failed to recognize that Tompolo alone should not be entrusted with such a responsibility that comes with juicy benefits.
