Amidst the heavy trolling being thrown at APC's vice-presidential running mate Kashim Shettima, for wearing sneakers to the Nigerian Bar Association's national conference and the rise of the challenge named Shettima Challenge, Senator Shettima has granted an interview explaining his reason for wearing sneakers to the prestigious conference. In his words;
"I was in Lagos for the NBA conference. NBA conference was held at Eko Hotel. It was largely funded by the Lagos state govt, the APC govt of Lagos state. Subsequently they moved to Eko Atlantic city. They bought that idea over safety by Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu. When I sent my AK team, one of the presidential candidates, he funded his agents, they held meetings for three consecutive nights to commence mischief........i am a Banker, I was trained by one of the best bankers in the world. I am a Jim Ovia boy. I deliberately wore sneakers to swamp at them"

Senator Shettima's explanation which was riddled with pauses has in turn, attracted widespread mockery from Nigerians as many have declared his explanation senseless while yet others wonder if he suffers a similar mental condition as his boss, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
