The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, pastor Enoch Adeboye has stated that coronavirus did kill anyone in his hometown, Ifewara of Osun State.
According to him, despite the ignorance or nonchalant attitude of the residents of his hometown towards covid 19 precautionary measures, no one died in consequence.
He attributed the reason for such a miracle to God. He explained that it was God who shielded them.
Speaking further, pastor Enoch Adeboye reminisced the death of his son, Dare. He noted that the time of his death was the most difficult time of his life which he was able to surmount by submitting himself to God who then took off his burden.
In his words: "I think it was yesterday I was asking the workers, are you alive today because you took good care during the pandemic? Is that why you are still alive?
“I told them and said, throughout the period, I never saw a single fellow wearing a mask in my village, Ifewara, Osun State. I never saw one and I went home several times and you know what? Not a single one of them died. Who took care? God.
“Some of you have heard this before: when I was in the saddest period of my life (during the death of his son, Dare), with so many questions and I know that even in my deep sorrow, some people were still laughing at me, I got a text from one of my daughters.
“All she said was: ‘Daddy, let God carry you. And that put an end to any problem; it ended my sorrows. It renewed my faith. If you make yourself carriable, God will carry you.
“All you need to do is to surrender to the One who wants to carry you. If you want to carry a child and the child says no, then leave the child alone,” he stated
