DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, Yobe State Police Command Spokesman, while confirming the incident said some suspects wielding AK-47 rifles have been arrested and are in police custody.

The attack is coming on the heels of the repeated claims by the Federal Government of the decimation of the Boko Haram terrorists and of note is the fact that Gashua has been one of the most peaceful communities in the state, even at the peak of the insurgency.
