The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has revoked the licenses of Silverbird TV, AIT, Ray power FM, Rhythm FM amongst other stations for failure to renew their broadcast licenses and nonpayment of outstanding debt.

On Friday 19 August 2022, in a press release, the broadcasting commission published a list of broadcast stations and licensees that are indebted to the commission. The press release also state that the commission had earlier in May granted the broadcast stations two weeks to renew their licenses and pay their debts. However, many of these licensees ignored the injunction. The broadcasting commission further stated that the stations with revoked licenses had 24 hours to shut down operations.
