Lagos Gubernatorial Election: Rhodes-Vivour Emerges LP's Candidate

At the Labour Party's primary election for the gubernatorial ticket for the Lagos state 2023 election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour won the the ticket. He emerged the winner of substitution primary election held on Wednesday 11August 2022, in Ikeja, Lagos. Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour left his former party, People's Democratic Party (PDP) in July. At the primary, he polled a total of 111 votes while his opponent Moshood Salvador, a former member of the All Progressives Congress earned 102 votes.


Fondly called GVR, 38 year old Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour is an architect, businessman and politician. His political career started in 2017 when he contested Chairmanship of Ikeja Local Government under KOWA party. In 2019, he won the ticket of the People’s Democratic Party to contest the Lagos West Senatorial seat.
