Amidst the move by president Muhammadu Buhari's administration to restore calmness to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, after recent manifestation of insecurity in the FCT, an Assistant Inspector General of Police was today attacked by suspected terrorists.
The AIG whose name is yet to be disclosed, was in charge of Zone 12 of the Nigeria Police Command. According to reports, he was targeted by the assailants and was shot severally. However, it has not been confirmed if the affected AIG has died.
Recall that last week, some senators of the 9th senate Assembly in a joint statement, threatened president Muhammadu Buhari with impeachment should he fail to meet the six-week ultimatum to restore calmness to the FCT issued to his administration by the law-makers.

Recall also that Boko Haram terrorists had threatened to invade the Federal Capital Territory after they threatened to kidnap president Muhammadu Buhari and the governor of Kaduna State, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai.
