Investigative Journalist, Dr Kemi Olunloyo Speaks On Nnamdi Kanu Being Responsible For EndSARS

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the new charges filed by the Nigerian Government before Justice Binta Nyako, is accused of instigating the destruction of properties in Lagos State during the EndSARS protest.

Recall that aggrieved Nigerian youths took to streets in October 2020 to protest against the unchecked brutality from the Nigeria Police Force, particularly against the disbanded Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The peaceful protest turned bloody on 20th of October, 2020 when operatives of the Nigerian armed forces stormed Lekki tollgate where the protesters camped and observed vigil. In their bid to quell the unflinching peaceful protesters, some protesters were reported shot and killed.

The massacre of the protesters by Nigeria armed forces resulted in a state-wide insurrection in  Lagos particularly: several police stations across the state were burnt as well as public facilities.

Consequently, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was thereafter accused by the Nigerian authority of inciting the youths against the state.

Interestingly, controversial self-acclaimed Investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo while reacting to the allegation against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu stated through her Twitter handle that the detained leader of IPOB cannot not be held responsible for the insurrection that resulted from EndSARS.

She further alleged that the organizers of the ENDSARS protest had met on October 8th to plan and distribute money and petrol for the alleged insurrection.

"Nnamdi Kanu CAN’T be held for burning Lagos just because he incited it from hiding. He simply joined the call for a bad government as well as Sowore during the uprising. The #EndSars organizers had a specific meeting October 8th 2020 and distributed PETROL ⛽️ MONEY", she tweeted.
