Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, former President of Nigeria whose second term ambition was prominently worked against by Atiku Abubakar has reportedly replied Atiku Abubakar's sought for his intervention in the People's Democratic Party (PDP) crisis.
Recall that Atiku Abubakar in 2015 opposed Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's sought for second term. He eventually left the PDP for the All Progressive Congress (APC) where he contested the party's presidential primary election but lost to the eventual winner of the 2015 presidential election, Muhammadu Buhari.
Interestingly, his emergence as the presidential candidate of the PDP for the 2023 presidential election at the expense of Nyesom Wike of Rivers State who was the first runner-up in the presidential primary election, has created division among the members of the PDP with Nyesom Wike taking the front seat of the aggrieved members of the party.
Wike is understood to be opposing the domination of the PDP national leadership by Northeners ranging from the National Chairman of the party, the youth leader to the chairman of the Board of Trustees.
According to report, Wike has among other conditions, demanded the resignation of Ayu Iyorchia as the national chairman of PDP and for a southerner to take his place. Report says Atiku's camp as well as Ayu Iyorchia is reluctant to meeting Wike's condition.

Report also says Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has been appealed by Atiku to interfere in the PDP's ongoing internal wrangling. The same appeal was also reportedly sent to former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to reports, both former Presidents have informed Atiku Abubakar that they do not want to be involved in the PDP's crisis.
