Electricity Workers Suspend Strike Action for 2 Weeks

On Wednesday 17 August, Electricity Distributing Companies across the Nigeria announced the commencement of a strike action. This strike action resulted in a nationwide blackout that lasted over 10 hours after they shut down the Transmission Company of Nigeria(TCN) in Abuja.

However, the workers reconsidered and gave a two week ultimatum to the federal government to meet their demands. The workers vowed to embark on an indefinite strike action if the government failed to comply with their demands. Power supply has currently been restored to the nation.
