ASUU: We Never Said "No Work no Pay"; The Government is Twisting our Agenda

 The ASUU strike lingers as the last meeting between the federal government and the union ended in a reported deadlock even though the FG debunked the claims of a deadlock and said the lecturers were insisting on getting paid for the six months they stayed out of the classrooms.

Speaking to reporters, president of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Professor Emmanuel Osodeke stated that the Federal Government’s attempt to kill the morale of lecturers on strike by proposing the No – Work, No – Pay strategy has failed. Professor Osodeke made it clear that members of the union are not refusing to work because of pay, but rather because the Federal university’s educational system and working environment must be improved. He further asserted that the federal government has until this moment, handled the matter of the strike action in an irresponsible and nonchalant manner.
