Tinubu's Running Mate, Kashim Shettima 's Phone Conversation With Senator Amosun In Which He Disclosed How He Will Make Ndigbo Suffer In Nigeria

The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu despite the hues and cries from Nigerians against his rumoured plan to pick a Muslim running mate, did unveil former governor of Borno state, Kashim Shettima, a Muslim as his running mate yesterday.

However, the antecedents of the former governor of Borno state and a serving senator of the federal republic of Nigeria, might dampen their chances of winning the 2023 presidential election.

Aside his infamous role in the 2014 Chibok school girls abduction, he has longstanding hatred for the Ndigbo, evident in his phone conversation with senator Ibikunle Amosun.

In 2014, Senator Kashim Shettima who was then the governor of Borno state, received a letter from the Goodluck Ebele Jonathan's government urging him not to hold the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in the state as a result of the volatility of the state which was under the siege of Boko Haram. He unheeded the advice as WAEC examination was held in the state including in the Chibok where the school girls were infamously abducted and taken hostage by Boko Haram.

However, it's his hatred for the Ndigbo that stands tallest of all his shortcomings. Senator Kashim Shettima in the wake of the 2015 general elections, in a phone conversation with the then governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun, revealed the All Progressive Congress (APC) conspiracy against the Ndigbo especially those living in Lagos.

In the phone conversation, he stated that the APC government will ensure that the Ndigbo is made irrelevant in Nigeria and that their Economic opportunities are limited via exploitation and Economic alliance between the north and west at the Ndigbo's expense.
