Aisha Yesufu, the convener of Bring-back-our-girls, despite being a staunch supporter of the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has in several tweets, warned him over "gagging" of his followers.
Mr. Peter Obi had appealed to his online supporters to stop attacking any of his political opponents who says unsavoury thing about his personality. Mr. Peter Obi enjoined them to allow him respond to such an attack.
However, Aisha Yesufu while reacting to Mr. Peter Obi's call for restraint, accused him of trying to deny his supporters freedom of expression. She explained that his claimed supporters are not underage, hence, owes responsibility for their activities online: determine who they will talk to or about.
According to her, such a continual appeal to his supporters for restraint amounts to "gagging" and is becoming irritating to her.
"What the heck is even this “my supporters” thing?E don dey irritate me! The office of the citizen remains the highest office in the land! No one tells the citizens what to respond to and how to respond to!
"You are an employee seeking for a job with us. You will not enter the interview room telling us how and when we will speak and on what issue we will speak Taaaaaaaaah!" She tweeted.
