A few days after the terrible attack on St Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo state which claimed the life of not less that 22 people, another one has been reported.
A Celestial Church of Christ, SBJ Oshofa, located at Wasimi in Ekwekoro Local Government Area of Ogun state, was today reported attacked by gunmen.
Reports have it that two worshipers comprising the Assistant Shepherd of the Parish, Oluwaseun Ajose and a Sunday school teacher at the church, Dagunro Ayobami were kidnapped by the attackers.
The shepherd of the church, Oluwatomisin Ehuwaojomo today, June 14th, confirmed the attack on the said church to the newsmen. He further revealed that the attackers have contacted the church to demand a ransom of 50 million Naira for the release of the two victims in their hostage.
"When my assistant called me almost two hours after they left, the kidnappers initially refused to speak with me but on his third attempt, they spoke with me and requested for N50 million ransom," he explained.
"I told them that, I am a servant of God and I don’t receive salary. I have spoken to the commissioner of police and they are on it."
Nonetheless, a member of the church who gave his name as Denis, in his tweet alongside with a video of protesting youths he shared, alleges that the attackers are Fulani herdsmen.
He explained that the suspected Fulani herdsmen tortured a pregnant woman and wanted taking her hostage but could not because she couldn't walk.
