Two young lovers have been subjected to physical punishment by their local council for inappropriate sexual behavior.
The two love birds, a keke (tricycle) driver and a ticket seller at the Wa Central Market in the Upper West Region had their sex tape leaked on social media and have thus been flogged 20 strokes of cane each for the action.
The two were captured in a video being tied to a pole in front of the Wa Naa’s Palace and lashed by a man after the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, Wa-Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV ordered their caning by some youth in Wa.
It was gathered that the lady had allegedly uploaded the sex video on social media on Sunday, May 29, 2022, causing uproar in the local area.
The sex video drew the ere of members of the Wa community as their action was against the customs and traditions of the Waala Traditional Area.
They were meant to take 100 canes each as punishment but it was reduced to 20 after many pleas.
It would be recalled that due to the surge of leaked sex tapes among the youths in the Wa municipality, the Waala Traditional Area constituted a by-law in late 2021, banning such practices, with the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area warning that anyone who leaks their sex tape or nude photos will face the Bye-laws of the Traditional Area.
