Osibanjo Finally Reacts To Tinubu's Victory

Amidst their rumoured face-off, vice president Yemi Osibanjo has finally bowed to pressure, written to his former boss, Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu over his victory at the just concluded Presidential Primary Election of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Tinubu coasted to victory at the expense of Vice President Yemi Osibanjo who reportedly attained his current position of vice president via nomination by Bola Tinubu. Understandably the rumoured rancour between the former political associates  and their supporters particularly because of Osibanjo's decision to contest against his former boss; a decision he took and implemented and which earned him the status of a betrayal.

Notwithstanding, vice president Yemi a few hours ago, through his Facebook page, congratulated Bola Tinubu over his victory. He further extended kind words to the delegates as well as to his current boss, Muhammadu Buhari.

His statement reads:I congratulate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at our party primaries and his emergence as the Presidential Candidate and Flagbearer of our great party, the APC for the forthcoming 2023 Presidential Elections.

I also congratulate President Muhammadu Buhari and all leaders of the APC for a successful Special Convention and Presidential Primary.

For many decades, our Flagbearer has shown passion, patriotism, courage and determination in the cause of nation-building. His sterling contributions to our democracy and its progress stand him out.  His wealth of experience will certainly be critical in our party’s continued efforts to attain a more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

As true progressives, we must remain strong and united in pursuing our collective vision as a party toward building a country that can provide a decent life and livelihoods for all our people.
