The former governor of Kano State and the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People's Party (NNPP), Rabiu Kwankwaso has finally taken decision on becoming the running mate to the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi.
Nigerians have been clamouring for the duo candidates of Labour party and NNPP to unite their political interest so as to stand a chance against the two dominant political parties: PDP and APC at the 2023 presidential election.
However, it appears that Nigerians will not see Peter Obi/ Kwankwaso joint ticket as NNPP spokesperson, Abdulmumin Jibrin has disclosed that Kwankwaso has rejected to be Obi's running mate.
Jibrin while speaking on an interview claims that Kwankwaso's popularity in the north has been tumultuous and that he stands a great chance to succeed president Muhammadu Buhari.
He further disclosed that Kwankwaso has the political edge over Peter Obi; hence, can not be his vice presidential candidate for the 2023 presidential election.
He claims further that Kwankwaso is more experienced than Obi and he will bring 70% of the votes if they team up.
“Very clearly, Kwankwaso will not be a running mate to Peter Obi. By every standard, Kwankwaso should be the presidential candidate.
" Kwankwaso has more political exposure and experience. He has a big profile when it comes to that. He has more experience politically on how to win elections".
