The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), has now disclosed which of the Labour Party's faction its recognizes its presidential candidate.
Recall that yesterday, the Calistus Okafor's led faction held its presidential primary election which produced Mr. Jude Ezenwafor as its presidential flag bearer.
The news raised concern over the chances of Mr. Peter Obi amidst the unresolved legal dispute over the leadership of the Labour party.
Recall that Julius Abure-led faction on May 30th unanimously nominated the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi as its presidential candidate.
Amid the uncertainty surrounding who is the legitimate candidate of the Labour party between Peter Obi and Jude Ezenwafor, the INEC's publicity secretary in a statement revealed that the Commission recognizes the Abure-led faction; hence, recognizes Peter Obi at the expense of Jude Ezenwafor.

"We are not aware of any faction in Labour Party.INEC recognizes only Peter Obi as the presidential candidate of Labour Party he has duly been given the access code".
