A member of a vigilantee group has been murdered by a furious mob on Saturday for reportedly making a blasphemous statement against Islam.
According to reports, members of the vigilance group guarding the Timber shed market at the Federal Housing Estate in Abuja had wanted to arrest some residents wandering around the market in the early hours of Saturday.

Trouble started when one of the residents begged the vigilance group to free them in the name of Allah but one of the vigilantes was adamant and in the process made comments said to be blasphemous. It was gathered he said 'which kain Allah'.
A trader in the market who spoke to PUNCH correspondent in confidence said the vigilante was beaten and stoned before he was set ablaze.
