The former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo whose opinion on the candidature of Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar, has long been anticipated since the two dominant political parties (APC and PDP) concluded their presidential primary elections that produced the aforementioned names respectively.
Many believed that Obasanjo's silence was because of his perception of the two presidential candidates whom have been described as "twin evil".
However, the former president vaguely warned Nigerians to be wary of the veteran politicians who for more than two decades have refused to leave the political stage.
He enjoined the Nigerian youths to see the 2023 election as a veritable opportunity for them to take power and redirect the nation towards the path of progress and peace. According to Obasanjo, the youths might not have the opportunity if they wait too long to act: " “Take over power today, tomorrow will never come.”
In it's understood that Obasanjo has discreetly thrown his weight behind the presidential candidate of the Labour party, Peter Obi whose chances of winning the presidential election is slim judging from the country's Political history and bias against his region.
