Burna Boy In Trouble As Lagos Police Begins Investigation Into Shooting Incident

  

The Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has ordered the Lagos state Commissioner of Police, CSP Abiodun Alabi, to carry out a thorough investigation into the alleged shooting incident involving some of the escorts of singer, Burna Boy.

 Social media was set abuzz when Damini Ogulu more known as Burna Boy was reported to have visited a club and caused a scene due to a quarrel with a man over his wife.

It was gathered that the Grammy Award winner made passes at a married woman, infuriating her husband in the process, leading to an altercation that got violent. The report said Burna Boy entered the Lagos club with five of his security details, and while four of them were said to have stayed outside the club, one of the identified as Inspector Ibrahim was said to have tagged along with him inside the club. Shots were fired in the ensuing melee with two people injured in the process.

The Lagos State Police Command through its spokesperson, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in a statement released today June 12, said the police boss has condemned it and has ordered a full-scale investigation.

 

The statement reads;

 

''Police personnel alleged and identified in the shooting incident at Club Cubana in Victoria Island, Lagos on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, have been taken into custody and are being investigated for their involvement in the incident.

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Usman Alkali Baba NPM, psc(+), fdc, who describes the circumstances surrounding the incident as unbelievable, has however condemned,  in the strongest terms,  the unfortunate incident. 

Consequently, the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Abiodun Alabi, to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and forward his report as urgent as possible for further action.''
