Columbian Singer, Shakira and Barcelona defender, Gerard Pique has announced their split.
The two love birds who had a whirlwind relationship spanning close to 12 years have two sons together, Milan and Sasha in a statement released by Shakira's communication agency wrote:
"We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our top priority, we ask for respect for privacy. Thank you for your understanding."
Though the joint press statement did not state the exact cause of the separation, it was gathered that Pique was caught in bed with another woman culminating in a big altercation that led to the duo living separately for a few weeks after Pique got kicked out of their family home.
Spanish outlet, El Periodico had reported that the world cup winner has been staying in a bachelor pad, living a 'party lifestyle' since the split.
It was also reported that Pique has been a frequent guest of nightclubs, returning home as late as 2 to 3am in the morning.
