Atiku's Running Mate Revealed

 

Since Atiku Abubakar's emergence as the Presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), there has been uncertainty over who emerges his running mate .

The governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa was reported to be scheming to emerge Atiku's running mate; however, recent development suggests that his fellow Niger Deltan governor has beaten him to it.

Atiku Abubakar met with some States' governors under the People's Democratic Party as well as the party's leadership on the 8th of June. At the meeting, Atiku Abubakar disclosed to the governors that he prefers the first runner-up in the PDP'S presidential primary election, Governor Nyesom Wike as his running mate.

It is understood that Wike's contribution to the PDP over the years was recognized by some PDP governor's comprising: Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, Samuel Ortom of Benue, and Aminu Tambuwal and are projecting him before other governors.

The Chairman of the PDP'S Governors' Forum, Aminu Tambuwal while speaking to news men, confirmed that the subject of Atiku's running mate was discussed at the meeting.
