A sixteen-year-old boy, Lawal Abubakar has confessed to exhuming Corpses buried in cemeteries to remove their body parts.
The sixteen year old suspect was arrested by the Niger state Police Command for attempting to exhume corpse buried in Chanchaga cemetery.
The suspect, Lawal Abubakar who hails from Kasuwan-Gwari in Minna confessed that he digs up corpses from graves to extract some body parts. He disclosed that he is being paid for each assignment, ranging from three thousand naira to five thousand naira.
While being questioned by police operatives attached to Chanchaga Division on Saturday, May 21, he revealed that he was told by one Salisu who also resides at same address as he to get body part of a corpse and the cloth used for its burial from the Chanchaga cemetery. He claims that Salisu who at the time of filing this report is said to be at large, promised to pay him five thousand naira if he successfully gets the items.
The command's public relation officer, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, in a statement on Tuesday May, stated that Lawal Abubakar also committed same offense last year. DSP Wasiu Abiodun revealed that the suspect was paid three thousand naira to get fingers of a buried corpse in Bosso cemetery last year.

He assured that proper investigation will be done and that justice will be done.
