The national grid, a network of power stations, power lines and electricity infrastructure that allows electricity to be generated, transported and used across the country, has the grid system that integrated generating stations and major consumer centers and then employed by the National Electric Power Authority in generating and distributing electricity in Nigeria.
Over the past few months, the national grid has collapsed, leaving many parts of the country in darkness.

The National Grid has for the third time in a month collapsed again plunging the nation into total darkness.
The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), while announcing the collapse, urged Nigerians to be patient.
“Hello, please be informed that there has just been a national grid collapse causing an outage in our franchise areas. We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appeal that you bear with us while we await restoration from the TCN. We regret all inconvenience caused,” AEDC tweeted.
The management of Kaduna Electricity on its part, in a statement signed by its head of Corporate Communication, Abdulazeez Abdullahi, said that it “regrets to inform you that the current outage being experienced in our franchise states is due to a collapse of the national grid. The collapse occurred at about 18:29 pm this evening.”
Despite assurances by the Nigerian Government that it had taken steps to cushion the recurrent grid collapse, it appears there is currently no end in sight for the epileptic power supply as this would be the third time in less than a month that this would happen.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), the organization managing the grid had last month assured Nigerians that it had developed alternative ways of managing the grid.
