Veteran Musician, Olanrewaju Fasasi more known as Sound Sultan is set to release his Ninth studio album, ‘Reality Check’, a musical imprint he was working on before his death this year.
Sound Sultan, fondly referred to as the ‘8th Wonda’ who succumbed to throat cancer in July 2021, will have an ID Cabasa collaborative album he had in the works before his demise, according to Now Musik and Naija Ninja.
‘Reality Check’ is reported to have six tracks on the body of art, with its premiere date scheduled for July under Naija Ninja record label, while they will unveil other details like track listing and featured artistes for the album in May 2022.
In the words of Dare Fasasi, ‘Baba Dee’, the elder brother to the late singer:
“Sultan’s legacy continues and we appreciate the opportunity to further the work he did while he was here with us.”
Now Muzik in its announcement, averred that the Fasasi family had granted it the ‘Right of Attorney’ to manage the assets and legacy of the late singer, with preparatory said to have begun in key areas of Sound Sultan’s interests, including music, theatre, television, film, fashion, basketball and live events. Similarly, a Sound Sultan Prize for Social Impact is being instituted.
