Photos: 50 Year Old Mother Of Eight Pregnant With Her Grandchild As She Offers To Become Surrogate For Her 24-Year Old Daughter Who Can’t Get Pregnant

 

A 24-year old woman, Kaitlyn Munoz who could no longer have children as a result of a devastating auto-immune disease has engaged the services of her 50-year old mum, Chalise Smith, who offered to help her carry the child as a surrogate mother.

Texas-based Kaitlyn was in 2019 diagnosed with Sjogren’s syndrome, a disease that attacks healthy parts of her body. She also suffered from endometriosis -a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb starts to grow in other places, such as the ovaries and fallopian tube. She had before her medical condition conceived Callahan, her 2-year old child through IVF but could no longer conceive due to the two medical conditions.

 Her brother Chalise has offered to get pregnant on her behalf and she is now pregnant with IVF with Kaitlyn's second child, a girl, who is due to be born in May.

After watching her daughter’s dreams of having more children appear broken due to her medical condition, Calise who had eight perfect pregnancies of her own decided to offer herself to be Kaitlyn’s surrogate.

 

Chalise said: "I told Kaitlyn that everyone needed to be 100 percent on board, Kyle (Chalise's husband and Kaitlyn's father), Miguel (Kaitlyn's husband), and Kaitlyn herself.

 

 

"I was already 100 per cent in, but if there were any single doubts from anyone involved in the decision, I didn't want to keep pushing.

"Everyone agreed and my husband was 110 percent with me all the way through.

 

"With my age, I had to go through a lot of health checks before I could get the all-clear for becoming a surrogate.

 

 

"But once we were given the all-clear, I had two embryos implanted in September, and that has resulted in me now being pregnant with my granddaughter."

 

Kaitlyn who expressed shock when her mother first offered to be her surrogate says she dreams of having a big family like her mom, with the whole family being extremely excited for her arrival due in May.
