Leaders of Hunters and Forests Security Guards Who Forcefully Shaved A Lady’s Gold-Tinted Hair In Benue Arrested

  A video showing members of the Nigeria Hunters and Forest Security Service stopping a lady with gold-tinted hair while on a bike (motorcycle), making her sit on the floor, and forcefully shaving the hair of a lady in Benue state has gone viral.

The despicable act which drew the ire of netizens who condemned the act prompted the Benue State Police Command to arrest the leaders of the security outfit.

The four members of the group were arrested for breach of public security in the state on the order of Governor Samuel Ortom include Ajonye Peter, State Commandant, Leva Luther, Deputy Commandant, Jov Peter Charles, Admin Officer and Godwin Adinya, State Adviser. 

 

Governor Ortom, while distancing himself and his government from the activities of the illegal organisation, said that "they are not an agency of the state government."

 

The Benue State Chief Executive further added that the state government has no relationship with the Hunters security outfit and will not in any way condone their operations in the state.

 

"The Hunters and Forest Security Guards is not a creation of the Benue State Government and we absolutely do not have any relationship with it in whatever form. As the Chief Security Officer of the State, I am appalled by the unlawful acts of these people and I condemn this in unequivocal terms and state categorically that my government has nothing to do with this group and its actions," Ortom stated.

 

The Governor stressed that his government does not condone injustice of any form and inhuman treatment of persons based on gender, social, political religious, or ethnic segregation.

 

"I have repeatedly maintained that I will never allow criminals to take over the state. Benue citizens are law-abiding and we cannot allow illegal bodies to operate and harass people here." he maintained.
