One of the relatives of the abducted passengers of the bombed Abuja-Kaduna train has given reasons why the bandits attacked the Kaduna-Abuja train.
According to him, the bandits claimed they targeted Kaduna State to teach Governor Nasir El-Rufai some lessons.

Dr. Abdulkarim Attached, a relation of one of the abductors of the train: an 85-year-old woman, quoted the bandits as saying, “The State Governor has been running his mouth and that was why they came to his doorstep.”
He also quoted the bandits as saying that they would go further
“This is just the beginning,” he said the bandits told him.
Dr. Attah, who said he also has a sister among those abducted, claimed that the bandits have spoken with him 11 times during when they gave reasons for their actions.
