An 85-year-old woman, Gama Jatau, lost her life after a 15-year-old girl named Happy David clubbed her to death in Adamawa State.
It was reported that the teenage girl took the action as she believes the old woman is responsible for casting spells on her to affect her academic performance and progress. She also accused her of inflicting her with diseases.
The incident which happened on April 8, 2022, in Tambo village in the Girei Local Government Area of the state, had David storming the residence of the octogenarian armed with a stick by 1pm on a fateful day, hitting her on the head repeatedly.
Jatau was later pronounced dead at the Jabbi-Lamba clinic.
She was thereafter arrested and charged to court on a count of murder, an offense contrary to Section 191 of the Penal Code Law of Adamawa 2018 and she pleaded guilty as charged.
