The vice chancellor of Landmark University, bishop David Oyedepo has been accused of withholding the National Youth Service Corps’ Call-up letters of about 200 graduates of Landmark University over their missing a farewell prayer session organized in honour of the departing students.
In a text message obtained by Gistreel.com from one of the parents of the affected students, the University’s management is accused of withholding the NYSC Call-up letters of about 200 graduates of the institution over their absence at a farewell prayer session.
One of the parents stated that several appeals sent to the management of the university concerning the development, were unreplied until yesterday when the management disclosed that the affected students will receive their NYSC Call-up letters in August.
One of the parents expressed displeasure at the development, noting that the decision is “draconic” while lamenting that their wards will be languishing at home.
“Sir, this issue may not be your business, but, I feel as an affairs analyst, you can add your voice to 200 families who are in pain,” a text message allegedly from one of the parents read.
“Our wards graduated from Landmark University, Omu-Aran, owned by Bishop Oyedepo. About 200 graduands were absent when Bishop David Oyedepo came to pray over them and he then instructed that their NYSC call-up letters be withheld.
“Delegates and letters of appeal have been sent with no response until yesterday, when I heard that call-up letters will be released in August 2022.
“It means our children will stay at home with us after graduation till August. This is rather draconian and height of impunity,” another parent said.
