An eighteen-year-old Benue State girl, Dooyum Ianna faces a daunting health challenge after it was discovered that her ovaries were damaged by a man who operated on her two years ago.
Dooyum Ianna had been battling abdominal pain which led to her being operated on by a quack doctor whose name is given as Agber Kwende at Gemanen Health Clinic, Ageraga, in the Gaav Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State, in the guise of appendectomy.
Unwittingly and regrettably, the quack doctor in the process, damaged her fallopian tube and other important reproductive organs in her body.
Dooyum Ianna thereafter, ceased to menstruate and constantly fell ill. The victim who is a student of Rose Asase College, Gboko East, Benue State could not cope with her academic tasks and suffered depression in consequence.
A recent medical diagnosis two years after the regrettable medical error by the quack, revealed that Dooyum Ianna fallopian tube has been damaged during the appendectomy by the quack doctor. The medical implication is that the victim might not conceive except the error is corrected, if impossible.
"I feel sick all the time. Apart from headache, I still experience abdominal pain.
"My education has been affected also. I feel sad all the time. I cannot have kids in the future, so what is my essence in life. I feel like ending it," the victim told Sahara Reporters.
