A commercial bus driver had killed himself by setting himself ablaze.
The incident which happened in the Ajao Estate area of Lagos State had the driver, whose bus was among the vehicles impounded by the Lagos State Ministry of Transportation protesting the seizure.
In the course of the protest, he was said to have reached for petrol, poured it on his body and lighted it, setting himself ablaze in the process.

An eye witness which was one of the residents in his own account said that during the enforcement operation, there was resistance between the protesting drivers and the task force.
In her words:
“Task force operatives went to clean up the Airport shuttle area. During the exercise, they impounded some buses and had a face-off with some of the drivers. At a point, one of the frustrated drivers poured petrol on himself and set himself ablaze.”
Another resident, who identified herself as Kudirat, said the victim got the vehicle on high purchase.
“The driver was frustrated. The task force operatives took the impounded vehicles away,” she added.
