Residents In Palpable Fear As 40 'Yahoo Boys' Clad In White Storm Estate

Yahoo boys in white storm Abuja Estate

  

Security personnel manning the Man Global Estate, Gwarimpa, Abuja on Friday prevented about 40 suspected internet fraudsters 'yahoo boys' from entering the Estate.

 

The suspected yahoo boys had told the security men they are there to grace a birthday party in one of the houses of the estate but strangely, there was no celebration happening in the said house.

According to some residents, the young boys came with bags and it was suspected they were up for a 'ritual'.

 

Denis Omala, the Estate CSO said the young boys went back, reinforced and came back around 2:30 am midnight but had to call for reinforcement to subdue them.

 

In the words of the CSO:

 

Over 40 suspected Yahoo boys attempted to breach the estate security on Friday night.

 

"“They dressed in white attempted to gain entrance into the estate around 11:45 pm but were not allowed in.

 

“They could not provide the requisite information on the particular house number that was expected. We turned them back. They returned strong in a convoy of 15 cars carrying over 40 people in white around 2:30 am.

 

“They became aggressive as they attempted to forcibly penetrate the estate. We had to call in all the security men and some residents to prevent them from breaching the peace of the estate.”

Estate Chairman, Emeka Ihedioha, in his account said upon distress call, he had to rush to the gate to prevent the young men from gaining access, as their intentions were unknown.

 

He further urged the inhabitants of the Estate to be vigilant.
