PHOTOS: Elechi Waterfront Community Residents Stranded And Homeless As Rivers Government Demolish Houses

 

Scores of houses at Elechi Phase I, Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rivers State were on Saturday demolished by the Rivers State government.

The state government took the decision having earlier threatened to evacuate residents in some coastal communities in the state for harboring criminals, a move that was berated by the civil society organizations.

Despite the outcry, the government went ahead with the demolition.
