Harry Maguire, Manchester United defender and captain has waded into the rumoured captaincy tussle with club's legend and teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo.
It is being rumoured that the Portuguese international has latent interest in the captaincy; an ambition which is reportedly heightened by Harry Maguire's dismal performances in Manchester United's recent matches.
Interestingly, Harry Maguire, through his Twitter handle, expressed sadness at the report of captaincy tussle involving him and Cristiano Ronaldo. He said the report is untrue: “I’ve seen a lot of reports about this club that aren’t true and this is another,” he posted on Twitter on Friday ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match at Leeds.
"Not going to start posting about everything that is written but I needed to make this one clear. We’re united and focused on Sunday. Enjoy your day everyone.”
It is being rumoured that the Manchester United dressing room is divided since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo whose influence among the players has been on the increase.
