Bursted! How Fake Police Inspector Was Arrested -- Ogun Police

 A 38-year old man, Akinyemi Thomas has been arrested by operatives of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly impersonating a police personnel.

Luck ran out of Thomas when police officers attached to the Sagamu divisional headquarters on a routine patrol spotted him in full police camouflage uniform under the bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

Ogun State Police spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi while confirming the arrest, said the mannerism and "conduct of Akinyemi Thomas raised the the suspicion of the policemen who then stopped to question him. Immediately the patrol vehicle stopped, the suspect took to his heels. He was then chased and apprehended.”

"On interrogation, he confessed being a dismissed policeman but using the uniform to extort unsuspecting members of the public.”

“Recovered from him aside from the uniform is a police warrant card."

The  Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Lanre Bankole has in lieu of the incident ordered a full investigation into the activities of the suspect with the view to charging him to court as soon as possible.
